MICF Newcomer of the year award entrant 2021
My Story
Sam is a Venezuelan migrant who's been in Australia for the last 10 years. She's a frustrated engineer who finally decided to pursue her passion for performing and comedy. She's been a regular at Melbourne open mics since mid 2019, which gave her the opportunity to present her work on 2020's Adelaide Fringe as part of an ensemble showcase. She had her festival debut last year in Melbourne Fringe 2020, together with Sunanda Sachatrakul, in "Yes, We Tan!", which was Broadsheet's top festival pick for comedy show.
Her unique background informs her material with unexpected points of view that will make you burst out into laughter, only to sneak back into your mind 3 days later to make you realise: "I would have never thought about it that way".
